Pet Hospice

Pet hospice is not a place.  It is a philosophy.  The focus is on pursuing quality of life. 

Hospice services are provided to the pet in their own home.  We are a mobile pet hospice and we come to you. The vet tech travels to the pet's home to provide services designed to ensure the pet's comfort, saving the pet the stress of travel for "comfort" services.  An option for in-home euthanasia is also provided to spare the entire family the stress of that final car ride.

Caring for a terminally ill pet can be a tense and traumatic experience.  Providing support to the human caregiver can actually help them access "new energy" needed for that job.  It can be a very lonely experience fraught with questions..."is my pet suffering, is there something else I could be doing for my pet to make them more comfortable, is it time to euthanize my pet, are my other pets grieving?"....  A visit from the pet hospice vet tech provides an extra set of eyes looking at the pet that are professionally trained and backed up with experience.  The vet tech also knows how to provide education to the owner about the illness, its progression and what to expect in the coming days.  All of this support is designed to give the owner more understanding about a situation that typically feels uncontrollable.

There are several packages to choose from when enrolling your pet in our hospice program.  We will meet with you to assess your goals and help you select the assistance that is right for you.

Anticipatory Grief/Caregiver Support Group

• Adults meet 2nd Tuesday of the month
• 7:00pm-8:30pm
• Free
• Caring for a terminally ill or special needs pet can be very challenging.  Meet other pet parents and share helpful tips.
